Guggenheim Partners Commences Operations in Japan

TOKYO – Guggenheim Partners, a global investment and advisory firm, announced today that its Japan-based subsidiary, Guggenheim Partners Japan, Ltd. (“GPJL”), has received its Type-1 and Type-2 Financial Instruments Business and Investment Advisory and Agency licenses from the Kanto Financial Bureau, the local regulatory authority, effective on February 16, 2015.

“We are very pleased that the Kanto Financial Bureau has granted us these licenses,” said Atsuhito Sakai, President and Representative Director of GPJL. “We look forward to extending Guggenheim Partners’ platform of innovative investment-management solutions to institutional investors and distributors in Japan, working with them to realize their objectives.” Guggenheim Partners initially established a representative office in Japan in 2014. GPJL’s office is located in Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.

Guggenheim Partners Japan, Ltd. is a regulated entity licensed to conduct Type-1 and Type-2 Financial Instruments Business and Investment Advisory and Agency Business in Japan. The Type-1 Financial Instruments Business license covers GPJL’s intermediary business with liquid securities, and Type-2 covers business with illiquid securities, such as fund-related products.
